Job Title: Junior SQL Developer – Full time, Permanent

As a leading Energy Consultancy, Energy Management offers a wide range of services to its clients, from energy contract procurement and contract management to invoice validation and technical project support.

We are a friendly, professional team of 15 staff based at Braford on Avon Marina near Bath. Steady business growth has created an opportunity for new Full time member to join the team.

The Role:

We are looking for a Junior SQL Developer to be part of our exciting IT systems expansion.

You will be responsible for reporting live data across our portfolio of household-name customers and work on a great mix of short term tasks and longer term projects.

You will maintain and create SQL Query data and Reports for multiple active projects and undertake ongoing development of our internal database systems along with providing application support to staff. You will receive guidance and training from the IT Systems Manager and be given opportunities to expand your existing SQL skills as well as undertake agile Application Development and contribute new ideas.

You will have great verbal and concise written communication skills, along with a positive, can-do attitude. You will be organised and strive to deliver with attention to detail. You should also be able to work independently and be able to communicate with non-technical staff.

The ideal candidate will have gained at least 1 year of commercial Development experience, however computer science or graduate Developers with solid SQL skills, a logical mind and a passion for coding who can demonstrate a broad skillset should also apply.

Essential skills:

You will be able to confidently walk us through your experience with the following, essential skills:

  • Writing and testing SQL Queries, joins and subqueries with a variety of data types
  • Both visual builder and hand-coded SQL ability (MSSQL Server 2012+, MySQL 5.5+ or MS Access)
  • Importing and exporting data with CSV, JSON or XML
  • Development of Excel Graphs, Formulas, LOOKUPS, Pivot tables and connected ODBC data
  • MS Office and PDF documents

Desirable skills:

Any of the following skills or experience will be attractive:

  • Data migration and testing (ETL and data cleansing)
  • VBA Development (Excel and Access)
  • Development with either PHP or ASP / ASP.NET
  • JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, HTML 5 forms and CSS 3

What we offer:

Job Title: Account Administration Manager – Full time, Permanent

Job Status: Permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday)

As a leading energy consultancy, Energy Management offers a wide range of services to its clients from energy contract procurement and contract management to technical project support and guidance on energy legislation.

We are a friendly, professional team of 15 staff based at Braford on Avon Marina, near Bath. Steady business growth has created an opportunity for a new, full time, member of staff to join the team.

Role

You will be responsible for providing a high standard of administration services across the management of our customer’s energy contracts.

This will include validation of a large volume of energy invoices, monitoring and maintaining customer databases, management of changes to customers’ site portfolios and maintenance of filing systems. In addition, you will act as the initial point of contact for all telephone enquiries.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the position will involve liaising with customers, energy suppliers and staff members across different departments.

You will be customer focused with a professional telephone manner and excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will also have a positive, can-do attitude, be organised and strive to deliver with attention to detail.

Flexibility and the ability to work independently whilst being an effective team member are also key to the role.

Responsibilities

Supporting customers in the day to day management of their energy contracts. This will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Validation of energy invoices (via data entry into customer databases) highlighting any discrepancies
  • Liaising with suppliers and/or customers, via telephone and/or email, to resolve queries
  • Management and maintenance of customer records
  • Preparation of budget reports and other data for presentation to customers
  • Completion and submission of documentation to allow for smooth progression of projects
  • Management of Change of Tenancy processes
  • Reviewing technical data and investigating anomalies
  • Effective management of adhoc customer related projects, raised in the course of day to day work

Responding to customer enquiries over the telephone, re-directing them to an appropriate team member as required.

Supporting team members with additional project support when required.
