Gary Weston - Founder and Principal Engineer
I established Energy Management over 19 years ago when I saw that my years of engineering training, coupled with my experience managing the industrial sales and marketing teams at Southern Electric, could benefit customers who needed guiding through the minefield of energy procurement.
I am very proud of the Energy Management team and I’m proud to be a chartered engineer. It’s this blend of engineering skills and knowledge with energy industry experience that has become a blueprint to the business’ success and is reflected in the backgrounds of many of the team. I continue to steer the business forward in terms of growth and developing innovative services, so essential to today’s dynamic markets, and to delivering considerable cost reduction value to customers. More than ever, we can sum up what we do for you through our mission statement:

Steve Retford - Chief Executive Officer
I joined Energy Management in the Spring of 2017 as Chief Executive Officer.
Coming from an engineering background, with a quarter of a century’s worth of industry experience, the chance to join like-minded individuals who understand the challenges faced by high-energy users was not one I could not pass up.
Since graduating from Cardiff University with a BEng. in Mechanical Engineering in the mid-90s, I have held several top-level positions in the steam and water industry, specialising in waste to energy systems including anaerobic digestion, gasification, incineration and CHPs.
With the expertise that we have on board here at Energy Management, I believe the sky’s the limit in terms of the company’s growth as we look to build on the strong foundations already put in place.
Steve Barrington - Technical Services Manager
I’m one of Energy Management’s water industry experts and for nearly nine years I have been applying my experience to delivering solutions that suit the complex individual needs of our customers – for both water and energy. On a day-to-day level, I oversee the timely renewal of energy and water contracts and am responsible for liaising with suppliers to make sure we achieve the very best value from our negotiations. For the longer term, I’m passionate about our delivery of a high level of customer service and work across the business to develop and maintain the best possible partnerships with customers and suppliers.
At play, I’ve recently spent a couple of years restoring a classic car – with my sons’ help – and, after a spot of essential maintenance, can now enjoy trips out in it, sometimes to cheer on my local rugby team on the touchline (or in the bar if it’s wet).
Tabby Sutton – Water Services Manager
I have over 4 years’ experience of working in the Energy industry in different roles, including 1 year at Energy Management as an Account Administration Manager. I have recently moved across to the Water Services team as Water Services Manager.
My current responsibilities include the co-ordination the Trade Effluent applications, water invoice validation and review, along with managing the team. I also assist with renewal of current customers water contracts and the procurement of new customer contracts.
I am an avid explorer out of work, whether it be touring the lesser known areas of the country or exploring the treetops on a Go Ape course.
Stuart Newbury - Senior Engineer
I’m another team member who has plenty of utility company experience and account management experience. On a day-to-day basis I deal with areas such as renewals, legislation changes, or billing issues identified by the team, while I also coordinate new supplies on customers’ behalf. I’m the team member responsible for drafting our monthly bulletin so it’s crucial that I am totally up-to-date with and understand the changes to legislation and can translate the fluctuations in the energy market into next steps for Energy Management colleagues and for our customers. As manager of the various climate change and sustainability schemes, such as CRC, CCA and ESOS, I am the first port of call for all customers wanting to discuss their responsibilities to the environment.
In fact, at home, I am using my energy efficiency knowledge to automate my house and create a smart home – when I’m not travelling to sporting events, that is.
Billy Pryke – Senior Key Account Manager
I joined Energy Management In August 2018 after being with an Electricity supplier for 9 years in a variety of roles. These roles included Change of Tenancies, Objection handling, direct SME renewals and SME new business sales. I then moved on to Account management in I&C dealing with customer from 1GWh – 20GWh before moving on to becoming an I&C Key Account Manager, which involved managing some of my previous employers top 10 broker relationships.
In my role I am responsible for a majority of Energy Managements Key Accounts, maintaining and building strong relationships with clients by understanding their needs and requirements. Getting to know how a business operates and the way a client uses their energy is really key in my role, so that I can provide my client new ideas and innovations that could help them become more energy efficient, which in turn helps save on the clients overall costs as well as advising on the best procurement strategy, or being a point of contact to discuss any issues they have.
In my spare time, I enjoy watching my football team Ipswich Town (26 years as a season ticket holder) and I like to keep fit either by running or you’ll find me in the “box” at my local CrossFit gym trying to lift some heavy weights!
Amanda Pieragostini - AAM/HR/H&S Manager
I started employment with Energy Management LLP as an Account Administration Manager (AAM), taking on additional responsibilities and after about 12 months moved into the role of AAM/HR/H&S Manager. I manage a team of 4 AAMs, in addition to having a remit for other service areas such as HR, staff development, policy and procedure, managing our Apprenticeship schemes (having facilitated the introduction of this to the Company in 2017) and Health and Safety.
My effective team of AAMs monitor and manage customers’ energy accounts and site portfolios, validate invoices, ensuring all queries with suppliers are resolved satisfactorily and efficiently, whilst maintaining the excellent relationships we have with our customers, suppliers and business partners. My varied role is always evolving, and I have recently added Engineering administrative services to my references.
I bring 25+ years of administrative experience to the role, gained in a variety of positions working for industry and public service sectors. I have an appreciation for the value in developing and maintaining effective partnership working and relationships in a fast-paced changing environment.
Outside work I am a busy parent (/taxi service/counsellor ….) to 2 teenagers and until recently was a volunteer for Wiltshire Scouting for many years as an Assistant Leader with the Beavers section which I found to be personally rewarding.
Steve Weston - Senior Technical Services Engineer
I joined Energy Management in 2004. I’m a qualified electrical engineer and, having worked for 32 years in that field before becoming a member of the team here, I have plenty of highly relevant experience and knowledge from inside the energy industry. I have a keen eye for detail which is vital when analysing energy projects including: new supplies or changes to existing supplies; procurement of energy contracts, and energy efficiency works to meet compliance legislation.
Relaxing could mean watching football, classic cars, doing a spot of DIY or spending time with my five grandchildren (although this may not be quite so relaxing!).
Ian Scattergood – National Account Manager
With over 25 years’ experience in key account management, I joined the team at Energy Management in April 2017. Acting as the face to face contact between Energy Management and the client, it is my role to ensure a complete understanding of the client’s requirements, planning, agreeing and implementing the best solution to ensure that all projects are completed ‘right first time, every time’. I see an important part of my job identifying trends, analysing data so that the client doesn’t have to. Many of our clients do not have the time or resource necessary to help them identify ways to reduce their consumption and achieve their energy cost goals, which is why exceptional account management is my responsibility.
Outside of work I am a keen fan of watching motorsport, anything with an engine and wheels - the noisier the better - and when I win the lottery one of my dreams would be to travel the world following Formula 1.
